All-new Yamaha YZ450F tops motocross category, Honda leads total motorcycle sales.

The latest Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) report has revealed Yamaha continues to lead dirt bike sales throughout the third quarter, while Honda still maintains the top spot in overall motorcycle sales across the country.
From January through to September this year, a total of 68,494 motorcycles were sold in comparison to 73,058 units sold during the same period in 2017, marking 6.2 percent decrease.
Honda controls overall sales with 16,051 units sold, followed by Yamaha with 14,393 sales and Kawasaki with 6857 motorcycle purchases.
Yamaha’s PW50 finished out the third-quarter with 997 units sold, posting an increase of 8.4 percent, while Honda’s CRF50F was listed second with 972 followed by Honda CRF230F, which boasted 819 sales. KTM’s 300 EX-C was just behind with 817 sales, as was Yamaha’s WR450F with 816 purchases.
The 300 EXC and WR450F topped the enduro category alongside the KTM 500 EXC-F in third (572), while the motocross division saw Yamaha’s all-new YZ450F take top spot with 604 units sold ahead of the YZ250F with 594 sales, as Honda’ ever-popular CRF450R rounded out the top three with 574 purchases.
The Honda CRF230F placed highest in the trail division, joined by the Suzuki DR-Z400E with 611 units and the Honda CRF250L, which saw 560 sales over the nine month period. The PW50 topped the fun bike class followed by the CRF50F and Yamaha TTR50E (808 units sold).
