South Australian beaming with confidence ahead of AUS Supercross return.
Brett Metcalfe is hopeful of benefiting from Penrite Honda Racing teammate Justin Brayton in the upcoming Australian Supercross Championship, which is set to take off tomorrow at Jimboomba in Queensland.
Metcalfe was initially slated to contest just the Pirelli MX Nationals, although his non-selection for Team Australia at the Motocross of Nations (MXoN) prompted the factory operation to enlist him for selected rounds.
It’s still not clear if the former AMA Supercross regular will contest the entire series, although he’s beaming with confidence as he makes his return to the discipline domestically.
“Justin is a fast racer and it seems to me that he has improved with age,” Metcalfe explained. “There is that great time in your career where experience is priceless and Justin has found that balance in his life and riding.
“I look forward to working together to put both CRF450Rs on the podium, which would be the ultimate dream for everyone involved. I am feeling confident and to be honest, I am really enjoying riding and can’t wait to go racing.”
Metcalfe and two-time Australian supercross champion Brayton will be joined youthful American talent Bradley Taft, who’ll pilot the CRF250R in the SX2 category.
