2018 MX Nationals – Championship Women’s

2018 Hattah Dessert Racer – Winner Women’s

2018 Queen of MX – Winner

2018 East Coast MX Series – 2nd Place Women’s

All these championships certainly set Meg apart. With titles across multiple disciplines, Meg is back to the top of the game. She is back to full fitness and putting herself and the Kawasaki KX250F on the top step of every podium.

We spoke with Meg to get her thoughts about winning the coveted MX Nationals Championship Title in 2018:

“Coolum Nationals where do I even start……Coolum is always going to be one of the most exciting, fun and toughest weekends on a dirtbike but I was feeling ready, excited and keen to get racing heading into it.”

“My preparation was perfect and I was ready to go. I started the weekend qualifying 3 seconds a lap faster than the other girls, my confidence was high and I was pumped with this result.”
Two races were held on the Saturday and in both of them Meg got great starts and lead those races from start to finish.

“Exactly what I set out to do. This was the plan to set-up for the big Sunday races”

“Sunday came around I was feeling every bit as ready as the day before. Race one was early but the track was still rough from the day before, I got another ripper start thanks to my awesome 2018 KX250F and lead the race from start to finish yet again.”

After winning the first round in WA earlier this year and the first 3 motos in Coolum Meg had a good points lead. Danger was still lurking as the competitors, Jess Moore and Maddy Brown, only had 1 point separating them for 2nd and 3rd overall.

How did Meg work this scenario to ensure she came away with the Championship?

“Moto 4 come around the track was gnarly and saw Jess Moore grab the holeshot, I knew Jess and Maddy would be fighting hard so I sat back and rode smart to claim my title and not get involved in the battle between those girls.”

After a smart 3rd place finish in the final moto Meg was more pumped then ever knowing she had taken the 2018 title after 3 bad years with an injury.

“I thought would my race fitness would never be fixed.”

“I am so happy to be back out front winning Championships; it is what racing is all about and what makes it really fun.”

“This championship is possible due to the support from my parents and family. A massive thank you to my partner Aaron and the endless hours of work he does in the shed working on and washing bikes, travelling, taking me to training and pushing me to my limits to get faster and fitter.”
