Cooper, Carter and Walsh complete three-man squad.
Motorcycling New Zealand has revealed its squad for the 2018 FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN), set to take place at RedBud in the United States of America on 7 October.
Multi-time New Zealand champion and current AMA Pro Motocross contender Cody Cooper (Honda) will spearhead the team once again, which following an unfortunate campaign in 2017, will be looking to qualify in the top 20.
The squad will be completed by MX Nationals regular Rhys Carter (Complete Parts Kawasaki Racing) and European Motocross Championship ace Dylan Walsh (Diga Procross Husqvarna), while MX Nationals MX2 challenger Hamish Harwood (Davey Motorpsort KTM) has been listed as a reserve.
“I’m really excited that we have so many riders at the moment that could represent New Zealnd at the MXoN,” said team manager Shayne King. I” feel the team that has been selected is very strong for the race at RedBud. It is such a demanding track and has the potential to be one of the toughest and best races this year in motocross around the world.”
New Zealand is one of the first to announce its squad for the prestigious event, as Team Australia applications only opened this month.
