Raymond Terrace double-header the 'weekend to get it done'.
KTM Motocross Racing Team’s Luke Clout believes an elusive race victory in the premier MX1 class is in reach at Ranch MX’s seventh and eighth rounds of the Pirelli MX Nationals this weekend in New South Wales.
The youthful talent has led a number of laps this season, displaying incredible sprint speed in the early stages that have led to two overall podiums.
This weekend’s revised format will play into the number four’s favour, with one traditional moto on Saturday followed by a 11-lap stint and two back-to-back eight-lap races on Sunday.
“I think my speed is really good and I’ve been building a lot this year,” Clout told MotoOnline.com.au. “I’ve been really close to a couple of race wins now, so if I can get off to a good start, there’s no doubt I can get a race win this weekend and be on the podium. I want a moto win before the end of the season, and I think this is the weekend to get it done.
“I’m not really changing anything up, I think if we can all do a 30-minute moto, then we can all do two 15s [back-to-back]. I know my sprint speed is really solid, so I’ve got no problems at all being able to sprint for eight laps.”
Clout holds down third in the championship standings, one point shy of Raceline Pirelli KTM’s Mitch Evans, who’s tally equals 330 points.
