The failure to receive medical clearance from doctor’s ultimately denied Hunter Lawrence of contesting the weekend’s eighth round of the MX2 World Championship in Teutschenthal, Germany.

The Australian suffered a hit to his head just one week ago in Latvia, however despite stating he passed the assessment tests in Germany, he was still advised that he would not be able to race the grand prix.

Lawrence released a brief statement via social media, and evidently disappointed by the decision, he expressed his sorrow to fans that he would not be behind the gates.

“The medical staff have deemed me unfit to race even though I passed their assessment tests,” Lawrence revealed. “I wont be racing here in Germany – sorry everyone, this decision was out of my hands.”

It’s been a difficult start to the year for the 114 Motorsport Honda rider after his podium at the season-opener, who has only completed three of the first eight rounds with injury forcing him to the sidelines.
