After experiencing a challenging weekend at Newry’s Pirelli MX Nationals opening round in Victoria, Dylan Long is extracting the positives as he plots his attack for the remainder of the season.

Admitting he struggled to find rhythm and flow, the CDR Yamaha Monster Energy Team rider recorded 10-6 results, crediting him eighth overall in the highly-competitive premier category.

The team’s efforts in-between motos enlisted greater determination in the popular Victorian, with multiple changes allowing him to advance to a more positive race position in the final outing of the day.

“I just couldn’t find my flow in race one and I wasn’t happy at all with the way I rode,” Long explained. “But, the team were able to make a couple of changes, and I went to the line in moto two determined to get a better result, which we were able to do.

“So that is positive heading into the next round. Still, eighth isn’t where I should be and I will work harder to ensure my results improve in the coming rounds.”

The next stop for the Australian motocross championship is scheduled for 29 April at the highly-regarded Appin circuit in New South Wales.
