Three races in Italy confirmed for next season's 20-round schedule.
Youthstream has announced another adjustment of the 2018 MXGP World Championship, with the previously-announced MXGP of Italy to be held in Ottobiano and titled the MXGP of Lombardia.
With the MXGP of Lombardia, the Italian rounds will be a total of three next season, with the MXGP of Trentino held in Pietramurata, Lombardia and the updated MXGP of Italy at Imola as the final round.
“After the fantastic success in 2017, the MXGP World Championship will come back to Ottobiano for the MXGP of Lombardia,” said Youthstream vice president David Luongo. “Youthstream is very pleased with the collaboration with Mr. Avandero and Mr.Gualini, we share the same passion of motocross and we thank them for their investment in the sport.
“On the other hand, the fans will be able to enjoy the world class facilities of the venue, a panoramic view on the track, very close to the action and the Italian Tifosi will come to support their hero Antonio Carol.”
This year Ottobiano was the stage of one of the best battles of the season between Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings, also awarded as the best paddock during the 2017 MXGP Awards. Next year’s event will take place on 17 June.
