Australian Hayden Mellross has re-signed with 51Fifty Energy Drink Yamaha for the 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, set to line up in the West Coast 250SX series next year.

Mellross finished 11th in the standings this year despite missing two rounds of the nine. His best result of seventh came in Seattle round, which was one of five top 10 results he produced.

“The future looks bright,” 22-year-old Mellross said. “I’m very excited to be back on the 51Fifty Energy Drink Yamaha team. We’ve spent the last two seasons building a strong relationship together and I’m excited to continue that partnership into the new year.”

The recent Australian Supercross Championship was a difficult one for the popular international riding with DPH Motorsport Yamaha locally, winning the opening round but having his season end prematurely with internal injuries sustained at Bacchus Marsh’s second round.
