The Monster Energy AUS-X Open has opened entires for its AUS-X Million competition ahead of this weekend’s event at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, which is one of the richest prize offers to event attendees in Australian history.

$500,000 is up for grabs for individual day ticket holders who pick the top-12 place getters in the correct order, in the SX1 final on either Saturday or Sunday nights.

The prize pool is shared should there be multiple winners on either or both nights, or, if a ticket holder attending both nights can correctly select both nights SX1 final in the correct order, they will walk away with the AUS-X Million. “We feel definitely for the Sunday, the opportunity to see how everything unfolds on the Saturday to select your riders before qualifying begins on Sunday is an amazing opportunity of winning $500,000,” event co-founder Ryan Sanderson told MotoOnline.com.au.

“But also, there’s not an event offering a million dollars to ticket holders who are going for the weekend – they’re there anyway, all you have to do is take five minutes out of your time and select 12 riders you think will finish the final on each day if you’re going Saturday and Sunday to have the opportunity to win a million dollars.

“It makes it more exciting and allows the fans to understand more about the riders, hopefully they maybe researching them or seeing how they’ve gone in the Australian championship leading up to the event or how they’ve gone overseas and they get to know the riders better. It’s a big part of why we did it, we want people engaging with the riders and the sport of supercross.”

The third edition has attracted the likes of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing duo Jason Anderson and Dean Wilson, along with Geico Honda’s Rj Hampshire.

Also in attendance will be motocross and supercross legend Ricky Carmichael and internet sensation Ronnie Mac, while Australia’s very own Chad Reed will be on the sidelines meeting fans after an ankle injury ruled him out of the event.
