Riders lists
SX1 predictions
First:
Dan Reardon – He has some stiff competition in the SX1 category this year with riders such as returning champion Justin Brayton, Dean Ferris, Todd Waters, Dylan Long, rookies Luke Clout and Nathan Crawford all joining in. But Reardon has a point to prove following last year’s rough supercross series and he’ll come out swinging on Saturday.
Second:
Justin Brayton – This guy is world class and will certainly be a podium rider at Jimboomba. As the returning champion, the American has a huge target on his back and will be one to watch throughout the event.
Third:
Dean Ferris – Although Ferris isn’t at the top of everyone’s supercross list, he’s very solid in this discipline as we saw last year and he’s on a dream run currently. Let’s see if he can continue his strong supercross form this weekend and land on the podium.
Watch for: Todd Waters, Luke Clout, Kade Mosig, Dylan Long, Nick Schmidt
SX2 predictions
First:
Hayden Mellross – The DPH Motorsport Yamaha rider lost out on last year’s title due to a mechanical issue and returned to America for the 2017 US supercross season where he improved leaps and bounds – this guy is going to be super fast at Jimboomba.
Second:
Gavin Faith – The former multi-time champion will be strong at round one, it was a rough season for him last year, but he’ll come back fast and ready to battle for the top spot this weekend.
Third:
Jackson Richardson – If Richardson’s shoulder injury is completely healed and he’s 100 percent healthy, he’ll be up there on the podium this weekend. Coming into the series as the defending champ, he has the pressure on his shoulders, but that shouldn’t phase the Serco Yamaha rider.
Watch for: Wilson Todd, Dylan Wills, Wade Hunter, Geran Stapleton, Egan Mastin
