MEGA Fuels Monster Energy Kawasaki team manager Troy Carroll has announced Carroll Motorsports will close at the end of the 2017 season, marking an end to the team’s association with Kawasaki Motors Australia.

Carroll Motorsports has operated Kawasaki’s factory-supported motocross and supercross operation since 2010 and, following weeks of speculation, Carroll has officially confirmed the team will exit national competition.

“Time for a huge change for myself and my family,” announced Carroll via social media. “It’s been a blast after 32 years in this sport and 24 Australian championships, now it’s time for a change of scenery! Thanks so much to all our teams fans and sponsors, we will go after this SX championship and go out with a bang. I’m sure a full press release should come out soon.”

The MEGA Fuels Monster Energy Kawasaki team will continue as planned to contest the 2017 Australian Supercross Championship with multiple champion Dan Reardon and rookie Nathan Crawford, when it begins at Jimboomba X Stadium in Queensland on 23 September.

Kawasaki Motors Australia is yet to formally confirm its position on the matter and it remains unclear whether the manufacturer will continue in an alternate capacity at a factory level for the 2018 MX Nationals or Australian Supercross Championship.
