Australian sits ninth ahead of the 17th round of the season.
Youthful Australian Hunter Lawrence is taking an open-minded approach into this weekend’s 17th round of the MX2 World Championship at the WW Motocross Park in Florida, USA.
The host venue was initially slated to be held by the popular Gatorback Cycle Park, however in a last-minute decision, it was moved to the new Florida circuit near Jacksonville.
Lawrence revealed he’s yet to witness any footage of the unique track, and despite poor weather looming, he’s eager to make the best out of the grand prix throughout the weekend.
“I flew to America pretty quickly after Sweden and stayed with my manager in California” Lawrence commented. “It’s been a bit of a ride holiday, I’m still training out here and it’s been really cool so far.
“I fly to Florida on Thursday and meet up with the rest of the Suzuki World team there. I haven’t seen any track videos but it’s my first time in America and I’m really excited and happy to be here. Hopefully the big storm doesn’t hit but we’ll make the best out of it either way – good weather or bad weather.”
The Queensland-native currently sits ninth in the MX2 standings after missing a number of rounds with injury, in what is just his first season of world championship racing
