With 5 race bikes lined up under the DPH awning at Toowoomba, it was always going to be an action packed weekend.Congratulations have to go to Dean Ferris for taking the MX1 Championship in dominating fashion, while Kade Mosig has gone further in trying to secure a strong finish to the season with a 5th overall (6-4).

Wilson Todd retains the MX2 championship lead after going 4-2 for 2nd overall, Hayden Mellross showed some incredible speed running 2-10 for 4th, Maddy Brown secured 25th overall and Deakin Hellier grabbed 11th overall in the Rising Star Rookies class.

Dale Hocking after the days racing: “Today was hectic, but it was great to have everyone back under the awning. Deakin is doing a great job in the Rising Star Rookies class, and Maddy continues to push the guys at every turn racing MX2. Kade keeps proving that has the ability to be a title contender and uses his head to ensure that even when things don’t go to plan, that he keeps moving forward in the MX1 championship. Wilson is still in the MX2 points lead, but with only 3 points the difference, will need to finish the season strongly if he wants to win. As for Hayden, I don’t think today’s results show how much speed he has, and we can’t wait for Supercross to fire into action to really show everyone!”

Kade Mosig: “My results don’t really show the speed I had, but I’m happy to have gained a few more points coming into the final round of the season. I missed the jump in the first race and moved forward from around 11th to cross the line 6th, while in the second moto I was battling with the lead group for the entire race on a pretty rough Toowoomba race track.”

Wilson Todd: “Even though I have the championship lead, I’m not producing the results that I need to. I know that I’m capable and even though right now, I have more pressure on me than I have had all year, it only motivates me more to bring it home strong in Coolum”. “It’s so good to be back racing at home” an excited Hayden Mellross said. “After race one, we needed to make a few changes to get more out of the bike, and dropping it in the second race definitely wasn’t part of the plan, but that’s racing. It was great to see so many familiar faces, fans and to line up behind a start gate again! said Mellross.

Maddy Brown: “I’m way too competitive to be happy with a 25th overall!” said Maddy, “The MX2 class was stacked this weekend, with Hayden as well as AORC guys like Snodgrass lining up, but it just motivates me to keep train harder, I want to beat them!”

DPH Motorsport now prepares for the final round in Coolum, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast this weekend, with the transporteer alrady in position at the venue!
