American import Kyle Peters is feeling confident ahead of Toowoomba’s penultimate round of the Motul MX Nationals this weekend, being the first circuit all year long that he’s experienced before.

The Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki rider contested Toowoomba’s round in 2016, where he put in a highly-impressive performance to finish out the weekend second overall with a race win to his name.

It’s been a lacklustre year for the number 14, failing to deliver results that initially had him listed as a championship contender, however Peters is eager to conclude the MX Nationals on a positive note.

“Toowoomba is really special for me,” said Peters. “It’s where everything here in Australia sort of started so I’ve been waiting for this round all season.

“For me, this is the first round of the year where I’ve been to the track before, I’ve had success there and I’m feeling really prepared for Sunday. The goal is to do what I did there last year, in fact better my result.

“I am yet to do what I came here to do, and it’s really important for me to finish the year off strong. I’m heading to Toowoomba to win and to ride the way I know I can.”

Peters sits seventh in the premier class standings as two back-to-back rounds remain in the Australian motocross championship.
