Belgium ace to pilot all-new 2018 YZ450FM in the new year.
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing has announced Jeremy Van Horebeek will remain with the outfit for the 2018 MXGP World Championship, which will mark his fifth-consecutive year with the brand.
Van Horebeek has been a regular championship challenger in the premier class for a number years, falling short of the title in 2014 to be credited runner-up.
The Belgium rider expressed his pleasure in continuing on with the Yamaha team, where he’ll pilot the all-new 2018 YZ450FM as he endeavours to clinch his first MXGP class championship.
“After four years together, it is really cool to stay with Yamaha for another year,” Van Horebeek stated. “For the last few years we have been really close to the top, and I know that when I am healthy I can fight for a podium position every weekend.
“I have a really good feeling inside the team and on the YZ450FM, these guys are like my family. The team, the mechanics and the staff all work really hard to stay at a high level and it is really cool that they put their trust in me.
“I am looking forward to having a good winter with the team and lining up strong and ready to fight for the championship in 2018.”
The number 89 currently sits eighth in the MXGP World Championship standings despite missing two rounds with injury, and is slated to represent Belgium later this year at the prestigious Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations.
