Factory Suzuki fill-in rider to make first start of 2017 at Millville.
RCH/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing had revealed Matt Bisceglia will replace injured athlete Broc Tickle for the remaining rounds of the 2017 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
Bisceglia, who contested several rounds with the former Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing team in 2016, recording several top 10 finishes in the process, said he feels for Tickle, although he’s grateful for the opportunity that’s been presented.
“Obviously, I’m bummed for Broc,” Bisceglia commented. “I never want to see anyone get hurt, especially someone I know and consider a friend. At the same time, it’s definitely a good opportunity for me. I raced the RM-Z450 last summer so it’s something I’m familiar with.
“The last time I raced outdoors was on a 450 so when the opportunity came up, I was more than happy to say yes and be able to work with these guys and ride a Suzuki for the rest of the summer. I’m really excited for it.”
The 22-year-old was initially signed to AutoTrader/Monster Energy/Toyota/JGRMX/Suzuki, however injuries have denied him of a start in the 2017 season. Tickle injured his shoulder at RedBud’s round of the championship, ultimately ruling him out for the year, allowing an opening for Bisceglia.
After a weekend off, the Pro Motocross championship returns this weekend at Millville in Minnesota, marking the eighth stop of the prestigious series.
