Australian teenager in for this weekend's world championship round.
The Suzuki World MX2 team has revealed Australian Hunter Lawrence will line up at this weekend’s MXGP of Czech Republic after being cleared by doctors earlier this week.
Lawrence has been sidelined since the 11th round of the 2017 MX2 World Championship in Italy with multiple compressed vertebrae in his back, however with several weeks to recover, the teenager is healthy and prepared for the 13th stop of the series.
“I finally got cleared from the doctor today after he checked out my scans,” Lawrence explained. “I’m extremely excited and raring to go for the Czech GP. It’s been hard sitting on the sidelines, but I’ve been training off the bike as much as possible.
“It’s definitely not the same as riding though, especially when I’ve seen the other Suzuki World riders doing so well as I just wanted to be out there with them. Thankfully I’m good to go for Loket as it looks like quite a cool track and it means I can finally get back to racing, which is all I want to do.”
Lawrence sits 10th in series standings despite missing the last two rounds, recording his best finish at the German grand prix, where he raced to an incredible second overall result.
