DPH Motorsport made the short 3 hour journey to Shepparton Victoria for Round 7 of the MX Nationals last Sunday where the team, and riders continued to show that they are serious title contenders.

Kade Mosig in the MX1 class went 2-9 in his 2 races for 5th overall, while MX2 competitors Wilson Todd & Maddy Brown went 2-2 for first and 22-22 for 22nd respectively.

DPH Motorsport ‘s Dale Hocking was once again happy to his team not only holding their own against the competition, but continually improving .

“It’s great to see Maddy on track mixing it up with some of the fastest, most aggressive riders in the paddock, we wish her the best of luck for this weekends WMX race in Loket. Once again we saw some mistakes from Kade and Wilson hold them back from showing their true potential, but it wouldn’t be motocross if it was all smooth sailing. Both riders showed they have the speed, determination and level head when the helmet is on and things don’t go to plan. Kade continues to improve every time he gets on the bike, and Wilson keeps surprising us with the raw speed he can produce on a motorcycle” Said Dale.

Kade continues to work hard between races, and once again proved to all those watching that he’s one of the country’s leading motocross racers.

“It felt great to come to Shepparton and once again show improvement” said Kade Mosig: “My race speed has gotten better and my starts were much stronger, putting me into better positions from the beginning, it was just unfortunate to have a crash and not have the result on paper that I felt I earned, but that’s racing. Now I just need to keep focusing on the final few rounds as we head to Port Macquarie, a new track for most of us, so a level playing field”.

For MX2 racer, Wilson Todd the 2-2 result for the round win doesn’t show his true potential, but rather his level head when things don’t go to plan.

“I went as hard as possible off the start, and just misjudged the first turn completely, overshooting it and giving myself a lot of work to do rejoining in around 16th place, and had to work hard to get to the front, but I just didn’t have enough time to catch Mitch (Evans)” said Wilson. “Race 2 I got the start I wanted and cleared out on the field and I felt great, then managed to make a mistake on lap 10 of 13 pushing me back to 2nd again. I’m just lucky that my results were more consistent than my competitors” an underwhelmed Wilson Todd stated.

Also racing the MX2 class was Maddy Brown, the only female in the field this weekend.

“I’m happier with how I rode here in Shepparton compared to Nowra, keeping things consistent and knocking on the door of the top 20 finish that I’m aiming for. It’s great training for me before heading out to Loket for the next round of the WMX in the MXGP this weekend” said Brown.

With just three rounds to go, DPH Motorsport now sets its sights further north, to Port Macquarie for round 8 on July 30 before the final two rounds in Queensland.
