A string of consistent results in the top five has led Penrite CRF Honda Racing’s Kyle Webster determined to build off his recent form in an effort to finish strongly throughout the final rounds of the Motul MX Nationals.

Last weekend’s seventh round at Shepparton in Victoria saw the Western Australian lodge a highly-impressive 3-3 scorecard, but with varying positions amongst his rivals, his overall score tallied to just on point shy of the podium.

“It was a bit of a bummer that two third placings only got me fourth overall for the round,” Webster commented. “Because the points were so tight between us, but that’s just the way it works out sometimes when the scores are tallied.

“I feel like I’ve just been building and building on my entire race program over recent weeks and months, so my plan is to keep that momentum going. I just want to keep putting in the effort and then hopefully see the results in return and keep climbing up the rankings – that’s my goal, simple as that.

The 21-year-old recorded the fastest time of race two on the final lap of the moto while in an effort to pass round victor Wilson Todd (DPH Motorsport Yamaha), which if successfully done, would’ve ultimately placed him inside the top three for the day.

Webster now sits sixth in the championship standings, 21 points behind Serco Yamaha’s Jackson Richardson as three rounds remain.
