MX1 predictions
First:
Dean Ferris – With six out of six round wins to his name, you can’t really count out CDR Yamaha’s Dean Ferris for the top spot. He’s obviously been dominant all year long and is on a wave of confidence, so he’ll be tough to beat as always.
Second:
Kirk Gibbs – The KTM Motocross Racing Team entrant has been a consistent podium placer in the 2017 championship, and is a strong a candidate to put a halt to Ferris’ winning streak, considering he defeated the number one last year at the same venue.
Third:
Brett Metcalfe – If Metcalfe’s performance at Nowra is anything to go by, then there’s every chance we’ll see him on the podium again. With an additional two weeks aboard the MEGA Bulk Fuel Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450F, he’ll be feeling confident in Victoria this weekend.
Watch for: Todd Waters, Kade Mosig, Luke Clout, Luke Styke, Nathan Crawford
MX2 predictions
First:
Jackson Richardson – The Serco Yamaha rider is beginning to pick up some momentum in the quarter-litre category, tying for the overall at Nowra although was handed second on count back. An overall has eluded Richardson all season, but we feel he’ll be hungry to get it done this Sunday.
Second:
Egan Mastin – Just like Richardson, Mastin is also picking up momentum with a handful of podiums, and of course, the round victory at Nowra. The Davey Motorsports KTM rider is going be a tough competitor, although we feel Richardson will have the edge come Sunday.
Third:
Mitch Evans – Second in the championship, Serco Yamaha’s Mitch Evans has been a relatively quiet contender following his two round victories earlier this year. The class rookie is due to step back on the podium, which could ultimately result in the red plate returning to the Queenslander.
Watch for: Wilson Todd, Dylan Wills, Kyle Webster, Hamish Harwood, Jay Wilson
