Defending champion Pagès forced to pull out with shoulder injury.
The world’s best freestyle motocross riders converge in Madrid for the prestigious Red Bull X-Fighters this weekend, marking the 16th edition of the competition.
The highly-popular event will play host to the sports most capable riders, including Australians Clinton Moore, Josh Sheehan, Rob Adelberg, Harry Bink, and New Zealand’s Levi Sherwood.
The iconic Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid is set hold over 20,000 spectators, while fans across the globe will have the opportunity to witness the action via Red Bull TV.
Four-time Madrid winner and defending champion Tom Pagès was forced to pull out of the event due to a shoulder injury that didn’t adequately heal, although this year’s instalment will still field four former champions.
Previous Red Bull X-Fighters’ event winners Adelberg, Taka Higashino, Adam Jones, Bink, and Spaniard Maikel Melero are also in the mix of the 10 qualified athletes besides the two novilleros Fred Kyrillos and Chris Meyer, who were selected through judges choice and public voting.
