With round 6 in the record books of the 2017 MX Nationals, DPH Motorsport retains the points lead in MX2 and 3rd position in MX1. YZ450F rider, Kade Mosig rode better than his results show, with an 11-3 result for 6th overall, the technical Nowra circuit has extended Mosig’s lead over 4th placed Honda factory rider, Todd Waters. For Wilson Todd, the day just wasn’t to be his with 4-8 for 6th overall but only losing a single point in the all important championship.

Kade Mosig: “I walk away from Nowra pretty happy. The work I’ve put in & with the help of Craig Anderson, I really feel like I’m riding better than the first half of the season already. Getting caught up in the first corner pile up and then having another crash through the race really put me down the pack in race 1, but we bounced back and finished the day with a strong ride that helps solidify my 3rd place in the championship.”

Not for the first time this season, MX2 rider, Wilson Todd mirrored his team mates overall result, this time with 6th. “I’m happy to retain the red plate, although today just didn’t go to plan. Really, I was lucky to not get hurt in my crash in the second race, I’ve given Ben some work to do to fix it during the week! Now I’ll be putting my head down and focusing on the next round” Wilson said.

Also racing MX2 this weekend was Maddy Brown, looking to push herself before heading back to Europe for the next round of the MXGP WMX. “I’m pretty happy finishing up 24th overall today, although I’d like to move forward and break into the top 20, but it’s great practice to race fast, super competitive guys. I improved my starts and I feel good with how I rode on a pretty technical track” said Maddy.

Team principal, Dale Hocking: “The races didn’t go to plan this weekend for Kade or Wilson but both guys still managed to maintain their position and in Kade’s case, strengthen it. I’m really happy how the whole team worked together and to see Maddy showing a wheel to the MX2 racers was awesome. With 3 crashes over the weekend, and the guys holding their place in each championship it just goes to show it was a tough weekend for a lot of people and just further supports what a great job the whole DPH Motorsport crew have done here this weekend.”
