MX1 predictions
First:
Dean Ferris – Although Ferris only finished fourth overall last year at Murray Bridge, it’s just too hard to go past Ferris for the overall win this weekend. He’s clearly on another level this season and Kirk Gibbs is the only rider to beat him in a moto to date, those statistics are tough to argue against!
Second:
Kirk Gibbs – This is Gibbs’ home round and he’s had enough of sitting behind Ferris, but it’s still hard to put him ahead of the defending champion this weekend. Gibbs is definitely the guy who has the best shot at beating him straight up as he did at Appin this year, but it will definitely be super tough on Sunday – let’s see how he goes.
Third:
Todd Waters – Waters won the event in Murray Bridge last year, so we know he’s comfortable on that track. But he was on a different team and machine, so will that play a role in his performance this year? We doubt it, but he’s definitely in a different situation compared to 2016 that’s for sure.
Watch for: Luke Clout, Kade Mosg, Brett Metcalfe, Luke Styke, Nathan Crawford
MX2 predictions
First:
Mitch Evans – Following a sub-par weekend in Horsham Evans is going to be swinging for the fences in South Australia as he works towards regaining the MX2 points lead. He’s got some stiff competition, but when he’s on, he’s just too determined and too fast to knock off the top step.
Second:
Wilson Todd – The DPH Motorsport Yamaha rider has the confidence back along with the points lead, he’ll be fast at Murray Bridge, there’s no doubt about it. It’s tough to split these guys, but we’ll run with our gut feeling on this one.
Third:
Egan Mastin – The Murray Bridge circuit really suits the two-stroke machine and Mastin will be fast out there this weekend. He’s not pumped on his Horsham result and definitely has the speed to win, as we’ve seen already this season. So keep your eye on the Davey Motorsport KTM rider this Sunday.
Watch for: Jackson Richardson, Kyle Webster, Hamish Harwood, Aaron Tanti, Dylan Wills
