Special event to take place on Saturday afternoon at Horsham.
This weekend’s Horsham round of the 2017 Motul MX Nationals series will hold an official beyondblue fundraising barbeque on Saturday afternoon at the Victorian circuit.
With the Motul MX Nationals forming an all-new partnership with mental health organisation for 2017, Horsham will become the first town to host a rider meet and greet, all in a bid to raise funds for the foundation.
Motul MX Nationals series promoter Kevin Williams offered an insight to what locals can expect should they plan on heading out to the track on Saturday afternoon.
“The goal is to raise much needed funds for beyondblue who work tirelessly to provide support to those suffering from mental health issues, as well as provide Western Victorians with the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with our athletes,” said Williams.
“The club has kindly arranged for the Regional Butcher to donate sausages, and we’re hoping to engage some other local businesses who may be able to help in the next few days.
“We will have some of our top riders in attendance, as well as team personnel and MX Nationals staff, so we encourage families, kids, and anyone who is a fan of racing, to head out and support a great cause.”
The beyondblue meet and greet barbeque will be held at the Horsham Motocross Track on the Henty Highway in Dooen from 4:30pm to 5:30pm on Saturday 20 May. Those wishing to attend will simply be required to make a gold coin donation, with all proceeds being donated to beyondblue.
