Wilson Coolair Motul Suzuki’s Luke Wilson has announced he’s stepping away from the Motul MX Nationals for an extended period after sitting Appin’s second round.

The Queenslander has been a mainstay in the MX1 and MX2 ranks during recent seasons, with his family-operated team gaining factory Suzuki support last season.

“Just thought I’d clear the air and let everyone know that I’m stepping back from the MX Nationals for now in the hopes that some time away from racing will bring back the love of the sport,” Wilson confirmed.

“For now I will be concentrating on my family, but I’ll still be at all the rounds doing Go Pro laps and some practice sessions. I am 110 percent set on racing the supercross, but you might see me before then too.”

Wilson’s absence will see Wilson Coolair Motul Suzuki revert to a single-rider operation for the Conondale round today at least, fielding American Kyle Peters on the RM-Z450.
