American stars during first Australian appearance in Adelaide.
It was America’s Cody Webb who reigned supreme at the 2017 running of the New Holland SuperEnduro-X, powered by Monster Energy, at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide over the weekend.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing endurocross specialist excelled on the unique hybrid circuit featuring supercross-style jumps and endurocross obstacles combined together for this year’s event.
Webb kicked off the event with a victory in Friday night’s racing ahead of the Husqvarna-mounted countryman Mike Brown and fellow Husqvarna contender Kyle Redmond to make it an all-American podium affair.
Rounding out the top five results on Friday evening was Australia’s Dylan Rees and former motocross and supercross ace Cheyne Boyd on debut at the one-off annual off-road spectacular.
Saturday’s racing saw Webb again top the charts aboard his KTM, the US import once again edging out Brown for the top spot, although this time it was Australia’s Boyd who made his way onto the podium in third position.
American standout Redmond would finish up in fourth position following Saturday’s action, followed by another former motocross and supercross star in Tye Simmonds who made his way into the top five aboard his KTM to round out the event.
Another pair of races were contested on Sunday during the high-profile Clipsal 500 event, with Brown and Webb splitting the two victories to cap-off what was another huge weekend for off-road alongside the Supercars within an arena environment.
