Waters sidelined for round four of 2016 Australian Supercross Championship

Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki press release:

Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki will head to Melbourne this weekend with Luke Wilson flying the team’s flag solo, with SX1 rider Todd Waters confirming he will be sidelined from the Melbourne round of the 2016 Australian Supercross Championship due to injury.

Waters, who at round one impressed close to 10,000 spectators with his debut 2016 Supercross performance, has unfortunately suffered nasty crashes at the past two rounds, however, it was a mountain bike incident whilst training prior to Adelaide which caused his wrist to sustain ligament damage, and as a result he will not be lining up in Melbourne this Saturday night.

With Waters out, teammate Wilson has shared that despite also carrying an injury, that he’s been able to get back on the bike this week, and is eager to make his way to Avalon for the fourth instalment of the six-round Supercross championship.

“I had my first ride since Wayville this week, and my wrist is feeling a lot better. It’s definitely better than what it was in Adelaide last weekend,” Wilson shared.

“I’m not 100 per cent but I know that I’m feeling pretty good heading in to this round – we’re definitely heading in the right direction, and I’m excited to go racing.

“I’ll be aiming for a much better finish at Avalon. I want to get back inside that top ten, and not just ninth. As long as my wrist will allow me to, that’s what we’ll be working towards this weekend.”

Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki, will now head to round four of the 2016 Australian Supercross Championship at Avalon in Melbourne being held on Saturday November 5.
