The National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team will make its way to Avalon Raceway in Victoria this weekend for round four of the 2016 Australian Supercross Championship on Saturday, 5 November.

Team manager Troy Carroll is confident the squad can improve on its round three results this weekend to commence the season’s second half after a productive week of training for SX1 contenders Wil Hahn and Kade Mosig.

“We just had a bad run at Wayville, so we haven’t changed our plan,” said Carroll. “Wil’s had a great week on the bike and so has Kade, so we’re confident again going into this weekend and hopefully we’ll turn the result around.”

With round four marking the series’ only stop in Victoria, Mosig’s home state, Carroll expects the now Queensland-based rider to find confidence in familiar surroundings: “Kade will be able to get down with his family and he’s going to spend a little bit of time with them over the weekend. Hopefully that will give him a bit more confidence going into the race.”

The prospect of being back in his hometown surrounded by family and friends is exciting for Mosig as he works towards finishing the 2016 series strong, currently sitting sixth in the standings at the halfway mark.

“I’m excited to get back down and race in front of the hometown,” Mosig said. “It’ll be good to have all of my family and friends there. I’ve had a good week and I’ve been pushing myself more to find that extra bit that I’ve been needing. I’m not overly happy with my results to date, so I’ve just been working super-hard to get better and try and finish off this series strong.”

American import Hahn will be looking to return to his Toowoomba podium form this weekend after barely missing out on a spot on the box in Adelaide. He is third in the championship tally with three rounds remaining.

“I feel really good, obviously the main event last week didn’t go quite the way I wanted it to,” Hahn reflected. “We’re still in a good spot, we’ve got good speed and the bike is working really well right now.

“I got some good riding in this week with Kade and we worked on some things that needed to be worked on from the weekend, so it feels like we’re going into the weekend pretty strong. I’ll just continue to work hard and hopefully get back up on the box this weekend and see if we can challenge Justin [Brayton] for the win.”
