Hat-trick for Brayton and the Honda Genuine Racing team

Honda Genuine Racing press release:

Justin Brayton rebounded following multiple crashes in his heat race to win the third round of the Penrite Australian Supercross Championship.

Justin qualified fastest for the night’s program and went in to his heat race quietly confident – “The track was awesome and I jelled with it from the start of first practice, said Brayton”

However a first turn crash in his race relegated him to last and put him under pressure to qualify straight through to main event.

After picking himself up and wiping of the mud from his gloves and grips he switched on to the task at hand. In an amazing display of riding Justin chased down and passed everyone. Unfortunately he changed his line whilst passing the leader through the whoops and slid out. The fall relegated him to 5th. Justin was obviously frustrated but regrouped to take with win in the dash for cash before preparing for the final –

“My two falls in the heat race were frustrating. The track was super slippery; it was deceiving how slippery it was after they watered it. I still remained positive as my times were the quickest and I actually enjoyed racing the track, it was a great layout. I also raced the dash for cash which was fun and gave me a chance to test the bike and track before the main, said Brayton”.

Justin rode tremendously well in the final and took a convincing win from start to finish. The win was his third in a row. The team has a solid program for the next three rounds and looks forward to the work ahead –

“The win was awesome; I am stocked for the team, my family and I. I am slowly seeing the results of the teams and my hard word. I am starting to get comfortable on the bike and I hope to continue to find improvements in myself and bike respectively. We have a solid program in place for the next two weeks; our work is far from done. Everyone is super focused and we continually remind each other that we are only half way as there are still three rounds remaining and a lot of points, said Brayton”.

The 7DeuceDeuce (Adam Enticknap) finished a successful third in his heat race, unfortunately a bad start in the main event and a string of mistakes kept Adam from racing to his full potential as he claimed 10th. The team and Adam will now concentrate on his race pace for 20 laps in the up and coming week –

“My pace is there, especially during the week, that’s what’s making it so frustrating. We have a plan for this coming week and I hope to be able to turn it around before the next round”.

The team’s new recruit Luke Clout proved his worth by claiming third in his heat race after qualifying 5th. The final didn’t go to plan as Luke was clearly taken out by another rider whilst sitting in third. The team however is positive Luke will be on the podium before the end of the season and are excited to see what he can achieve. Team Manager Steve Powell believes in Luke’s ability –

“Luke drove down 5 days before racing. It was a 10 hour drive; followed by another three hours of driving to be able to test extensively for two days, from there he flew to Adelaide to race. When you consider he hadn’t raced for 3 months, hadn’t ridden a Honda in 4 years and only had two days on the bike before racing it, his results clearly become extraordinary, said Powell”

The team will now prepare for round 4 of the Penrite Australian Supercross Championship this coming weekend in Avalon, Victoria, for more information please go to www.australiansuperx.com.au
