Women's team extends advantage on day two in Spain.
Australia’s World Trophy team have experienced more difficulties on day two of the 2016 International Six Days Enduro in Navarro, Spain, while Team USA continue to lead the category.
USA’s Taylor Robert (first) assisted the team to a 32.38s advantage at the conclusion of the stage, as Italy and Great Britain currently sit second and third respectively.
Following Josh Strang’s withdrawal from yesterday’s opening day due to injury, Daniel Milner would be the bearer of bad luck within the Australian squad during today’s stage after a mechanical malfunction forced him to make an early exit.
With Strang and Milner on the sidelines, Australia’s World Trophy team will now receive a three-hour penalty for each rider on consecutive days that they’re unable to compete. This will now leave Daniel Sanders (third) and Lachlan Stanford (23rd) fighting for individual results.
Sweden and Spain continue to be front runners in the Junior World Trophy class, however Italy dropped to fourth while Team USA gained the advantage to move into third.
Australia’s Junior World Trophy entrants Jack Simpson (50th), Tom McCormack (53rd) and Nic Tomlinson (77th) have maintained their position in 10th.
The Women’s World Trophy class continues to be led by Team Australia, despite stage one leader Tayla Jones dropping to second in the order following the completion of day two. Jemma Wilson (fifth) maintains a position within the top five, while today’s stage saw the return of Jessica Gardener (19th) after a mechanical failure forced her out of the opening day.
Australia’s lead of 2m01.69s places Spain in second, while Germany are positioned a further 9m39.63s behind in third.
