Wilson’s Coolair Motul Suzuki rider Todd Waters is remaining optimistic heading into the 2016 Australian Supercross Championship which is scheduled to commence on September 17 at Jimboomba in Queensland.

After opting out of the 2013 supercross championship in order to prepare for the MXoN, and then racing on the MXGP scene for the following two years, it’s been a significant amount of time since Waters last contested a supercross event.

“I can’t wait for the supercross championship coming up, it’s been a while for me since I headed over to Europe – it’s been three years or so,” Waters told MotoOnline.com.au.

Placing third in the 2016 Motul MX Nationals, Waters admits that he is yet to begin supercross testing following a gruelling 10-round outdoor season which saw him in the midst of the championship battle.

“I haven’t done any testing yet, I have no base setting so it’s going to be hard work for me,” he stated. “It’s a quick turnaround, we only have a couple of weeks before the first round.”

Waters completed the 2012 Australian Supercross series sixth in the championship standings which spanned over four rounds.
