Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki’s Todd Waters and Luke Wilson are preparing to head to Coolum for the Grand Finale of the 2016 Motul MX Nationals being held this weekend August 27-28, 2016.

After nine huge rounds of racing, this year’s motocross series will come to a close on Sunday, and both Suzuki’s MX1 pilots Wilson and Waters will be aiming to finish their 2016 motocross campaigns on a high.

Waters, who is in a strong position to finish on the Thor MX1 championship podium is also still within striking distance of the 2016 title, and shared that he’s hoping to have some fun at Coolum on Sunday.

“We’ve put the last round behind us, and we’re heading to Coolum to really have some fun this weekend,” Waters shared.

“The championship is down to the wire between Dean (Ferris) and Kirk (Gibbs) and I’m just going to go out there and race my own race. This weekend is going to be fun to watch for the spectators that’s for sure.

“The pressure is sort of off me – we just have one round left of racing and honestly I don’t want motocross to end, so fingers crossed we can finish off the season with a good result.”

For teammate Wilson, Coolum could provide yet another opportunity for the Queenslander to finish inside the MX1 top ten, but shared that he’ll be aiming for a career best finish on Sunday.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend, I am determined to finish the motocross on a good note,” Wilson shared.

“I’ve had a good year, and I’ve had a few top ten showings but it’s still not exactly where I want to be.

“Top ten has always been my goal, but I really want to put my head down and finish with an even better result at Coolum this weekend.”

Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki, will now head to the final round of the 2016 Motul MX Nationals at Coolum in Queensland, being held on Saturday and Sunday August 27-28.
