The Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team are gearing up for the final Motul MX Nationals round of the 2016 season, which is set to take place at beautiful Coolum Beach in Queensland this weekend August 27 – 28, 2016.

With both MX1 pilots Dylan Long and Jay Wilson racing to season best finishes at the team’s last outing at Toowoomba, both of the Honda CRF450R mounted riders will be hoping to continue with the same form, and finish the season strong at Coolum this weekend.

Long, who secured a third place in GoPro Superpole and finished in an impressive fifth overall at Toowoomba, shared that he’s looking forward to the final motocross round of the year at Coolum.

“I’m really excited for this weekend. Coolum is most peoples favourite round of the year, and I always enjoy racing there,” Long said.

“I was pretty happy with my result at Toowoomba, and I feel like we’re not too far off the pace of the front guys, so hopefully I can put together a similar result or better this weekend.

“The team have all put in a big effort to make these last two rounds as positive as possible, so I’m just hoping I can reward them with a good result when we go racing on Sunday.”

For Wilson, the final two rounds at Queensland have provided him with the opportunity to capitalise on reduced travel time, and said that he’s hoping to finish the 2016 motocross series on a positive note.

“I have a lot of really great memories of Coolum, and I had my most successful round of the season there last year. Hopefully that can give me some added confidence and we can finish this year with a good result,” Wilson shared.

“Last round was a step in the right direction for me, and although this season hasn’t turned out exactly how I would of liked results wise, we’ve made some improvements.

“Being my rookie year in the MX1 class I knew I’d have a lot of learning to do, which I believe I have. Now I’m just looking forward to getting this final round at Coolum done, so we can reset and focus on Supercross.”

The Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team will now prepare to head to Coolum in Queensland for the final round of the Motul MX Nationals, being held this Saturday and Sunday August 27-28.
