Oz SX: McFarlane to return for JDR at Canberra Super X round

JDR Motorsports will receive a boost at this weekend’s fourth round of the Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, at Canberra in the ACT when lead Pro Open rider Andrew McFarlane returns to racing.

For the first time this series, McFarlane will make his first appearance in the championship, returning from a heavy crash in the lead-up up to the start of Super X. McFarlane has felt the pinch of having to sit out and watch as the series unfolded before him, but now feels he is 100% fit and is confident of entering the battle for round wins with championship front-runners, Chad Reed, Daniel Reardon, Jay Marmont and Michael Byrne.

“It’s been a long-time coming, but I am now ready to go. We have done the right thing by sitting out as many rounds as we have, as I now feel that we won’t just be out there filling spots on the grid – but actually be out for round podiums – and that is the most important thing for myself, the team and our sponsors.”

McFarlane was not the only one who is looking forward to next weekend. Team Manager, Jay Rynenberg is excited about the prospect of McFarlane’s return – as well as the rest of the team’s commitment to training and preparation.

“Last weekend was definitely one to put behind us, but we are looking forward and things are definitely looking up. Despite the downs of last weekend, we are really enthused about the boys’ preparation and their ability to pick themselves up and keep going. The team is excited to have Andrew [McFarlane] returning this weekend. He has been a big part of this series – even off-the-track – helping the guys and being there for the riders, but we all know how hard he has been working to get himself right and not only for us, but for his sake as well, we can’t wait to see him out there,” said Rynenberg.
