Factory Kawasaki pilot shooting for second home state victory.
After claiming top MX1 honours at the 2015 Shepparton Motul MX Nationals event, National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Kade Mosig is eagerly anticipating the series’ return to the Victorian circuit this Sunday, 31 July.
Mosig, currently fourth in the premier class points chase, will have his sights set on a successful round defence in front of friends and family in attendance.
“As well has winning at Shepparton last year, this is the third and final race in my home state,” said Mosig. “So I’m excited to get out there and give it a good shot in front of my family and friends.”
After a consistent 3-4 result at the rain-soaked round seven an Conondale, Queensland two weeks ago, Mosig believes he and the team have made further improvements to the set-up of his 2016 KX450F and feels confident ahead of round eight.
“I feel we’ve made some serious progress over the past two weeks and having the whole team behind me working to give me the best possible chance of winning races has been a great opportunity,” he added. “The Shepparton track has a tendency to get really rutted and it also has the only concrete starting gate of the series, so that’s another factor we have to deal with.”
Mosig currently sits 74 points behind third place MX1 championship contender Todd Waters with three rounds of racing remaining.
