Husqvarna-supported Lyndon Snodgrass blasted his Husqvarna TE 300 to a matching pair of Outright podiums as the 2016 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) continued in trying conditions at Hedley, Victoria, for rounds seven and eight.

While championship leader Daniel Sanders marched relentlessly onwards with a pair of victories over Tye Simmonds, 18-year-old Snodgrass was an exciting addition to presentation proceedings at both rounds, beating his previous best finish by 10 spots.

“That’s my best AORC finish by 10 positions, I’m pretty happy,” reflected Snodgrass. “I actually didn’t know where I was placed yesterday so it felt good when I figured out that I had finished third. I never expected an Outright podium this weekend.”

Excelling on both the muddy cross-country and sprint circuits aboard his two-stroke Husqvarna, Snodgrass feels his confidence is building following the strong dual podium performance.

“The track suited me, but I just seemed to be having a lot of fun out there,” he added. “The TE 300 was awesome. We did that cross-country and it lasted through the sloppy mud and rain, and then finished out the sprints today! The confidence is rising in me and I’m happy to be getting these results.”

The 2016 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship now takes a two-week break before returning at Monkerai in New South Wales for rounds nine and 10 on 13-14 August.
