WOODSTOCK HONDA:

Woodstock Honda Thor Racing’s Daniel Reardon has taken the overall win in round three of the Australasian SuperX Championship after a stellar performance at Perth’s famous Burswood Dome beating 2008 series winner Chad Reed, taking  the points lead in the Australasian SuperX Championship in the process.

Afterwards, it was an elated Reardon who admitted he got nervous towards the end of the ten lap final:

“I knew he was coming; and I tightened up.  I made a mistake through the whoops with two laps to go which allowed Chad to catch up, but I gave it my all on the last lap and it was enough to keep the lead and take my first win”.

Reardon dominated all evening- not only taking all three heats, but also consistently running lap times in the low 32s and 31s-  the only other rider to do this was Chad Reed.

“My times were great, but I know I can go even faster.  It’s just hard to find the edge, I’ve had a tough season coming back from injury and I am happy with the improvements I am making each week.  I am really happy to take the points lead and give Honda their  first Supercross win against Chad in the world on the all new fuel injected 450.  I just need to maintain my program and take each race as it comes”.

Reardon now leads the Australasian SuperX Championship by two points over 2008 series winner Chad Reed.

In Pro Lites, Woodstock Honda Thor Racing’s Dean Ferris had mixed night that ended disastrously.

After doing well early and qualifying in second behind Matt Moss, Ferris crashed heavily whilst negotiating the whoops and sustained a horrific injury to his right arm; breaking his radius and ulna.

This injury will require surgery and ends Ferris’ SuperX 2009 campaign.

“I can’t believe this!  Seriously, the team and I have been working so hard and I have just come back from a bad injury.  Obviously, this isn’t what I wanted, but it has happened and now I just need to focus on recovering”.
