Tough break for Australian Grand National Cross Country front-runner.
Australian Amsoil Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) contender, Daniel Milner, has suffered an untimely mid-season leg injury with an expected recovery time of up to two months.
The N-Fab/AmPro/Yamaha bLU cRU Off-Road Motorcycle Racing Team rider announced via social media that he has indeed broken his fibula after a crash that resulted in his leg being caught under his Yamaha YZ450FX.
“Well this will have me sidelined for a month or two,” said Milner. “Broke my fibula at today’s race, small mistake that saw me go down and leg get caught under the bike.”
With the help of an onlooker, Milner pushed through the pain, remounted, and made his way back to the pits before seeking medical assistance.
“Big thanks to the guy that was out there at the time and helped me get back on the bike to ride back to the pits,” he added. “Also thanks to everyone that came and checked if I was ok – much appreciated.”
Milner currently sits fifth overall in the 2016 GNCC XC1 Pro standings after seven rounds of racing.
