Factory Suzuki fill-in shines in first professional 450 outing.
Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing fill-in rider Matt Bisceglia claimed an impressive top 10 finish on debut in the premier class at Thunder Valley’s third round of the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
With both factory Suzuki regulars James Stewart and Blake Baggett recovering from injury, the team enlisted the services of Bisceglia who formerly rode under the MAD Racing/Dirt Candy/Suzuki awning alongside Australia’s Luke Clout before parting ways after round two.
After qualifying 17th, the 450 Class rookie raced to a pair of 10th place finishes on the day earning him eighth overall amongst some of the fastest 450cc competitors in the world.
“I couldn’t be happier with my day,” he said. “I came out and had some good practices and put it in 10th in both motos. I had to fight for both finishes. I can’t thank the team enough for giving me this opportunity, it was a great weekend and one I’ll always remember.”
The 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will return on Saturday, 18 June for the Red Bull High Point National where Baggett and Stewart are slated to be back in action.
