DPH Motorsport press release:
With Round 1 of the MX Nationals done and dusted for 2016, the DPH team will take both the pros and cons from the event in Horsham, Victoria and focus their energy on the round 2 in Appin.
The day started on a positive note with Jed Beaton taking P1 in the MX2 qualifying with an impressive 1.56 lap time, a whole second faster than anyone else in the class. Jed then went on to place 6-2 respectively in moto’s one and two and walked away from the round sitting 5th in the Championship. There are only 4 points that separate Beaton in 5th and 1st place.
“Awesome to start off the season with some decent results, I just struggled with bad starts. Top 5 points are close so I’m pretty excited for round 2” Said Beaton.
Lawson unfortunately sat just outside the top 10 in the 450cc class for the majority of the day after qualifying P12 and placing 11-10 respectively to take 11th in the Championship. With the return of a number of overseas riders returning to Oz and some strong 2015 contenders, the 450cc class will prove to be more challenging than ever but we have no doubt that we will see Lawson back on the podium in the coming rounds.
“Fairly average weekend racing for me. I’ve always struggled with the Horsham track. No excuses though, I just didn’t have much speed at round 1” Said Bopping.
DPH continue their assault on the 2016 MX Nationals Championship at Round 2 in Appin, NSW on Sunday 17th April 2016.
