New-look team launched at Naval Headquarters South Queensland.
NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki has launched its high profile 2016 Australian motocross and supercross team of Matt Moss, Kade Mosig and Jake Moss this morning at the Naval Headquarters South Queensland as part of its Team Navy association.
The factory race team of Kawasaki Motors Australia will compete with the all-new 2016 model KX450F in the MX1/SX1 ranks of the MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, and Australian Supercross Championship, as well as with the KX250F in its return to MX2/SX2 competition.
Multiple time national champion Matt Moss and Mosig will challenge for the 450 class championships, while Jake Moss returns to the team from injury to contest the 250 series. All three riders have been working hard during the pre-season in a bid to claim number one plates for NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki.
“It’s a new team for me and I’m really excited to be with NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki for 2016,” Moss explained. “Everything has been going really well for us in the build-up to the season, I’m feeling at home on the KX450F and will take a lot of confidence into the opening races. We have great people on board, the sponsors are incredible and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
After finishing second in both the motocross and supercross series last year, Mosig makes his return to NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki for the first time since 2012 with a lot of confidence on his side. The target is to go one better in the new year and claim Australia’s premier championships.
“It’s good to join forces again with NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki,” Mosig beamed. “Last year’s results were really close to achieving my goals and I really think we are capable of taking that next step with this team in 2016 on the KX450F. So far, so good, I am really enjoying the environment and the bike is awesome. I feel like I have really improved my riding and will be able to take it to another level this year.”
NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki makes its official return to the MX2 category with a motivated Jake Moss in 2016. Twin brother of teammate Matt, Jake has been a mainstay at Kawasaki and is eager to overcome a string of injuries to contend for title wins on the KX250F. He previously won the outdoor series in 2007.
“I’m really excited to be with NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki again after they stood by me when I got hurt last year,” Moss said. “The team’s decision was for me to step across to the MX2 class, which I’m really looking forward to. I’ve been getting in shape, preparing for the 250 and have lost a lot of weight, so come round one of the MX Nationals we should be able to gain strong results on the KX250F.”
The team will once again be managed by multi-time Australian champion racer Troy Carroll, who welcomes the refreshed rider combination, as well as both returning and incoming team commercial partners. NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki announced these sponsorships at the launch today.
“It’s been an extremely positive pre-season for the NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki team, signing Matt Moss, Kade Mosig and Jake Moss for the 2016 season,” Carroll commented. “With so many great partners behind the team this year and the fact that we’re racing with the KX450F and KX250F, we are anticipating a very successful season as we target championship wins on behalf of everybody involved.”
Kawasaki Motors Australia national sales and marketing manager Robert Walker joined Carroll in welcoming the team’s commercial sponsors and has confidence that the NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki team of Matt Moss, Kade Mosig and Jake Moss will represent the brand strongly on track in 2016 riding the KX450F and KX250F models.
“The NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki team is a remarkably professional organisation and Kawasaki Motors Australia is very satisfied that we have all the right components in place to challenge for victory in 2016,” Walker added. “With the brand new KX450F and also the KX250F being utilised by the team once again this year, it is paramount that we work hard collectively to ensure the greatest results possible. It will be an exceptional season ahead.”
National Pump and Energy (NPE) and Monster Energy will feature as title sponsors of Kawasaki Motors Australia’s factory team in 2016 alongside Rockwell Watches and Hitachi Power Tools, with associate sponsors Team Navy, Motul, Pirelli, Alpinestars, Bell Helmets and Isuzu D-MAX also heavily involved in the project.
NPE Monster Energy Kawasaki also enters the new season with official sponsorships from NGK, Kincrome, Unifilter, Takt, Renthal, Boyesen, Hinson, RK Chains, EZE Products, Houston Energy Services, Pro Circuit, DP Brake Pads, SPP, VP Fuels and JTEKT.
