Positive pre-season feedback from the factory KTM MX2 recruit.
Caleb Ward is beaming with positivity just days into his 2016 pre-season testing schedule as he familiarises himself with the KTM Factory Motocross Racing Team.
With just two days under his belt, Ward is feeling comfortable aboard his 2016 KTM 250 SX-F, a clear indicator that the move to the returning factory MX2 KTM outfit is a great fit for the 18-year-old.
“When I got on the bike for my first ride it felt so good, I’m so happy with how everything is going,” Ward told MotoOnline.com.au. “We went to Coolum for my first ride on the bike and I was pretty much blown away by how good the engine and everything is, it’s so awesome.
“Obviously last year my bike was good, but this year it’s just crazy how good it is. We did some more testing yesterday and I feel really comfortable on it now, we haven’t done anything too massive, but straight away I’m super happy with the bike – I’m feeling really good and I’m pretty stoked!”
The Queenslander is gelling well with the factory KTM crew, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere with the team that earned themselves the MX Nationals MX1 championship.
“It’s been really good, we all get along well,” said Ward. “It’s a pretty chilled atmosphere, everyone’s really calm and we can have a bit of a laugh out at the track. But at the same time everyone takes their job very seriously, they’re all really motivated and great at what they do. It’s been really good so far and I think I fit in with the team well, they’re all really nice guys and I’m looking forward to the year ahead, it should be good.”
Ward will be the sole KTM Factory Motocross Racing Team MX2 rider for 2016, riding alongside experienced MX1 teammates Kirk Gibbs and Luke Styke.
