Queenslander opts to undergo shoulder surgery.
Australia’s Jackson Richardson has been ruled out of the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Western Regional 250SX Championship following an unfortunate shoulder injury.
After completing just the opening round of the 2016 season at Anaheim, Richardson announced via social media that he would not be lining up for San Diego last weekend after opting to undergo surgery to fix the injury.
It’s a tough blow for the 20-year-old Cairns native and his 2016 campaign, but he looks forward to returning to racing at 100 percent following the procedure and rehabilitation process.
“I’ve decided to have surgery on my shoulder that I’ve had some trouble with for a while,” said Richardson. “Bummed I’m going to be missing out on a lot of racing, but looking forward to being back at 100 percent. Massive thank you to everyone for all of their support and to all my sponsors that help me out.”
