Following two rounds as a stand-in for Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki, Ryan Alexanderson has outlined plans to return to the EMX250 series after having his European travel ban lifted.

A late addition to the Empire Kawasaki squad, Alexanderson impressed with a P7 result at the Wonthaggi opener, followed by ninth at Appin, and sits ninth in the MX2 standings.

However, it’s now been confirmed that Appin marked his final appearance in the Australian championship onboard the KX250 in place of Cambell Williams, instead resuming his international commitments.

“I just got my travel ban lifted from Europe,” Alexanderson told MotoOnline. “I got my visa all sorted, so I’m allowed back into Germany to continue racing the European championship and select MX2 World Championship rounds, rejoining with the WZ KTM Racing Team.

“I have to say a huge thank you to the whole Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki team for allowing me to come onboard for the first couple of ProMX rounds. I really appreciate the effort those guys put in for me, even though my time there was short.”

Alexanderson contested the 2024 EMX250 Championship with WZ KTM Racing, where he scored a season-best result of P8 overall at the final round in Castilla la Mancha, Spain, and was 23rd in the final standings.

The Queenslander will now shift his focus back to Europe, aiming to build upon his EMX250 experience and gain valuable seat time in selected MX2 World Championship rounds.

Injured Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki regular Williams is understood to have returned to riding this week, with the intent of potentially making his ProMX comeback at round four in Traralgon, Victoria, on May 25.
