Honda Racing has finally announced the signing of highly-rated New South Wales teenager Kayd Kingsford, who will compete in the MX3 class for the Yarrive Konsky-led organisation after the departure of last year’s champion Jake Cannon.

The 17-year-old Kingsford was also impressive during his ProMX MX3 campaign, scoring multiple podium finishes throughout the season, which resulted in a third-place overall championship finish.

As the season shifted to supercross, Kingsford again showed front-running pace, this time with two race victories and fourth overall in the Australian Supercross Championship’s final SX3 standings.

In moving from the WBR Bulk Nutrients Yamaha team, Kingsford is confident in his newfound transition to the official Honda team, with the CRF250R having achieved significant success in the quarter-litre categories through recent seasons.

“I was pumped to get this opportunity,” Kingsford commented. “Honda’s MX3 program is proven –they won [SX3 in 2023] with Parker Ross and backed it up with Jake Cannon [outdoors]. Their MX2 success also gives me confidence that I’m on the best bike with a great team. I’m ready to chase this championship.”

Kingsford already has one win under his belt with the new team, clean-sweeping the MX3 motos in round one of the Victorian titles at Wonthaggi, setting the stage for what could be come the Penrite ProMX Championship opener to be held at the same venue on March 22-23.
