Kayden Minear’s debut with the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team will be put on hold, with the Australian announcing he’ll sit out this weekend’s Glendale SMX Next opener with an injury.

Minear – who joined the team back in December – is set to compete in SMX Next, the Scouting Moto Combine races, and the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, but his debut will now be on hold with a plan to race Daytona now in his scope.

“Unfortunately, I will not be racing this weekend in Glendale, Minear announced. “Had a little injury that had a couple of complications, so I will be aiming [to be back] for the next round in Daytona.

“Thank you to the whole team for understanding and helping with the healing process. Tough times make for a stronger man. See you at the races very soon.”
