Fast Thoughts: Cole Davies

Post-race in Anaheim following first-career 250SX podium.

New Zealander Cole Davies has been nothing short of exceptional so far in his rookie 250SX West campaign. Three rounds into the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross Championship, the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing-mounted 17-year-old has a podium to his name with third at A2 and currently sits P5 in the standings, only eight markers back from the top three. Davies shared his Fast Thoughts in this latest feature.

Celebrating first-career 250SX podium…

Go eat some Whittaker’s [chocolate] and I don’t know, maybe deposit some money into my MX Bikes account, buy some more tracks, something like that.

Working through the day at A2…

I think I was like P8 after first qualifying – I was pissed with that. But then I was like P4 after the second one. And I was more happy with that one. But yeah, I’m definitely more of a racer. I like racing better than qualifying.

Goals for his rookie season…

I want to go win a supercross race, that’s one of my goals this season. So, yeah, I’m just going to keep working on that, just build every weekend, and yeah, just keep building.

Learning from teammates like Eli Tomac…

Yeah, it’s definitely cool watching him at the test track, just absolutely dominating the track. I got one of his jerseys a couple of weeks ago. So I hung that up – it’s pretty sick.
