Altherm JCR Yamaha rider confirmed for final three rounds.
New Zealand MX2 champion James Scott will contest the final three rounds of the 2024 Penrite ProMX Championship in the MX2 category, the Altherm JCR Yamaha rider to debut next weekend at Toowoomba.
Scott clinched the national title in April and will now turn his attention to the trio of upcoming Queensland rounds to complete the Australian series.
“I want to keep going with my racing as the New Zealand season is pretty short,” commented Scott. “We only get four rounds of motocross nationals, so I want to keep a bit of a roll on over winter.
“It will be new to me and good to go over with the team and to get some testing in a race environment as we work towards our series next year.”
The MX2 championship lead is currently held by fellow Kiwi Brodie Connolly, 30 points ahead of Yamalube Yamaha Racing’s Ryder Kingsford in second, and Noah Ferguson (Boost Mobile Honda Racing), who is a further two points behind.
Joining Scott come MX Farm and Queensland Moto Park will be JCR teammate Maximus Purvis, who will line up in MX1 with WBR Yamaha for the first time since injuring his knee at the Maitland round last season while riding for the team.
