To be equipped with GasGas in MX1 through outdoor remainder.
Two-time national MX1 champion Matt Moss will make an unexpected return to the Penrite ProMX Championship with the Elliott Bros GasGas team, beginning with Gillman’s third round of the 2024 season at the beginning of next month.
Moss, 35, has been a supercross specialist of sorts in recent seasons, largely focused on the Australian and world championships among other appearances internationally.
With the World Supercross Championship (WSX) appearing to be up in the air and the Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) yet to announce a calendar for this season either, Moss will use the final six rounds of the outdoors to keep match-fit onboard an MC 450F. It’s unclear if he will continue with Elliott Bros or GasGas into the stadiums.
The most recent ProMX start of Moss came with WBR Yamaha in the early stages of 2023, in which he made two MX1 starts before stepping back to the MX2 class in Maitland. Following that, he shifted his focus back to supercross, but was largely affected by injuries in both WSX and AUSX.
Elliott Bros is a Bendigo-based GasGas, Honda, and Kawasaki dealership – along with an extensive assortment of power equipment – in Victoria, with the addition of Moss coming alongside MX2 contingent Jai Constantinou, Liam Andrews and Mack O’Bree, as well as MXW signing Madi Healey.
Moss clinched the 2013 and 2014 premier class championships with Suzuki, which came after he had previously won the 2009 and 2011 MX2 national titles with Suzuki and JDR Motorsports KTM, respectively. He also has two AUSX 450 championships (2013-2014) and picked up a trio of 250 class titles (2008-2009 and 2011).
